Traveling solo can often bring on some fears, especially if it is your first solo trip. However, I truly believe that you can overcome these worries and that the fears can seem quite small when you arrive in your destination.
Here are the most common fears you face as a solo female traveler and how to overcome them

SAFETY
Some of the biggest fears that a solo female traveler will have are concerns of safety. Criminals are generally opportunists that look for vulnerable travelers who have their attention diverted. While you may not be able to control everything in terms of safety, make sure that you are smart, keep your wallet and documents in an inside pocket and avoid wearing clothing or accessories that will make you stick out.
UNWANTED ATTENTION FROM MEN
Another concern that many women will have is that the men in certain places will be pushy or aggressive. While dressing conservatively may reduce such attention, responding to such behavior by being firm and confident is typically enough to deter the men. If the situation does start to develop and get worse, it’s best to move to a public area where you can ask for help.
TABLE FOR ONE
There are many times where I would just order takeout due to not wanting to sit alone at a restaurant. However, I missed out on so many dining experiences due to this fear. Eating alone allows you to make friends with locals, waiters and other travelers, and really enjoy the experience of dining in your destination. I was even able to try my first oyster by sitting by a local at the bar.
LONELINESS
As you start to be away from friends and family, loneliness is a feeling that many solo female travelers can experience. Some key things I do is face-time my family and friends at specific times throughout my trip. You will also meet people along your trip, and if you choose to stay in a hostel or accommodation, then you will rarely find yourself without anyone to talk to if you stay sociable.
OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE
Getting out of your comfort zone is a fear that anyone can experience but heightens when you are traveling solo. The biggest thing I was able to learn about myself by traveling solo is how resourceful and resilient I was throughout my trips.
