While I am usually a homebody during the cold winter months, there are too many wintry adventures to go on. From New York City to the many cities of Colorado, there is an incredibly diverse ray of options to explore within the U.S. Whether you want to hot tub amongst a winter snowstorm or get your heart racing skiing down a black diamond, the list of possibilities goes on and on.
Here are the top five winter weekend getaways in the U.S.

NEW YORK CITY, NY
It is hard to beat a winter day in NYC. There is so much to choose from whether it be ice skating at Rockefeller Center, watching the ball drop on New Year's Eve, or attending the world's largest Saint Patrick's Day parade, you truly don't need warm weather to experience this incredible city.

ASPEN, CO
Aspen is wonderful in the winter. The world-famous mountains of Colorado come alive in the snowy season, and it’s about more than just skiing. Aspen is a winter wonderland full of dog sled tours, snowshoe tours, snowmobiling, and even hot air balloon rides. I was able to learn how to snowboard at Buttermilk Ski Resort, which is home to the X Games.

PARK CITY, UTAH
Utah is home to some of the most amazing first-class ski resorts. There is mountains within the city that cater all levels of skiers as well as some top-rated ski schools.

MAMMOTH, CA
If you live in southern, sunny California and are wanting a dose of wintry weather, Mammoth is the place to be. Whether you are into extreme sports or a quiet relaxing day, this city has a great selection. Foodies will love the wide range of selections from restaurants to breweries.

VAIL, CO
Vail is a magical place to be not only in the summertime but also in the wintertime. The downtown area features tons of great shopping, food, and outdoor music.
