WHERE TO STAY IN MAUI

Updated: Feb 8, 2023

Figuring out where to stay in Maui may seem hard due to the numbers of resorts and high prices. However, based off your needs, you can find any type of accommodation on the island.

Here is my list for suggested stays in Maui

MAUI BEACH HOTEL

{Best for view/centralized location}

Maui Beach Hotel is conveniently located downtown just beside the beach. The location makes it easy for guests to wander into town or admire a beach sunset or sunrise. The location offers a great lawn area with chaise lounges and a gazebo. The hotel also offers a rooftop pool with plenty of loungers and a serve view of the harbor and mountains. My friends and I loved our stay here.

Ho'oilo House Bed and Breakfast

{Best for romantic couples}

The Ho'oilo House Bed and Breakfast is located within the West Maui Mountains offering incredible views of the Pacific Ocean and islands surrounding Maui. Amenities include free breakfast, parking, and internet which can be hard to come by on the island. You will also not have to worry about young children running around because the bed and breakfast is adults only.

Howzit Hostel

{Best for budget/solo traveler}

Howzit Hotel is the perfect accommodation for anyone who is wanting to travel on a budget or is traveling solo. I stayed at this location in November 2021 when it was formally called the North Shore hostel. The rooms ranged from size, privacy and budget so there are options based off your needs. The hostel also provided daily free tours with transportation for guests which was a great way to explore the island and make friends.

The Grand Wailea

{Best for families/activities}

The Grand Wailea is one of the best resorts if traveling with kids. This luxury oceanfront resort offers nine pools, a lazy river, spa, and superb dining options as well as a family game room and kids/teens' club. A grand luau is held on-site for those wanting to immerse themselves within the Hawaiian culture.

The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua

{Best for luxury}

The Ritz-Carlton is a five diamond hotel so guests can expect the best of the best. The resort lies on 22,000 acres that include miles of hiking trails, natural sanctuaries, six golden sand beaches, locally inspired menus and exclusive experiences. Although high-end and elegant, guests feel that the atmosphere is also extremely cozy and comfortable at the same time.

Hana Maui Resort

{Best for room options}

The Hana Maui Resort is located along the Road to Hana. The resort lies on 100+ tropical acres where visitors can choose between 75 rooms. In addition to standard suites, travelers can book rooms with kitchens or oceanfront bungalows.
